Who We Are
Rupali Repale
Rupali Repale is an internationally acclaimed open-water swimmer and world record holder. She is recognized as the first Indian and the youngest woman to successfully swim across seven international straits and channels in the year 2000.
A distinguished athlete, Rupali is a two-time national award recipient, having been honored with the National Youth Award and the Tenzing Norgay National Adventure Award. She is also a recipient of the prestigious Shiv Chhatrapati Award for excellence in sports.
An NIS-certified coach and a World Triathlon Level I Coach, Rupali brings extensive expertise in elite swimming, triathlon, and cycling. As the Founder and Director of the Rupali Repale Swimming Academy, she is dedicated to mentoring swimmers in both competitive pool and open-water disciplines, with a strong emphasis on athlete safety, structured development, and high-performance training.
Aniruddha Mahadik
Aniruddha Mahadik is a National Medalist swimmer and a highly qualified swimming coach with extensive experience in competitive coaching, sports management, and aquatic operations.
He previously served as Sports Manager and Swimming Coach at Indian Institute of Technology Delhi. He is an NIS-certified coach and holds ASCA Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 certifications.
Currently serving as a Partner at the Rupali Repale Swimming Academy, Aniruddha oversees training programs across all academy centers. Under his guidance, numerous swimmers have achieved success and secured medals at various competitions.
In addition to his coaching accomplishments, he possesses significant expertise in organizing and managing competitive pool and open-water events, swimming pool operations, maintenance, and aquatic facility management. His combination of technical knowledge, leadership, and athlete development continues to contribute to the academy's success.
Minesh Babla
Minesh Babla is a passionate swimmer whose journey in endurance swimming began through events such as the Khar Gymkhana Marathon Swim and the Sunk Rock to Gateway Swim. These experiences sparked his deep appreciation for open-water swimming, where he discovered a unique connection with nature, adventure, and personal challenge.
Driven by a vision to promote open-water swimming and create world-class destination swim experiences, Minesh is passionate about making sea swimming safe, accessible, and enjoyable for a wider community of swimmers while contributing to the growth of the sport in India.
A dedicated sportsman and state-level swimmer, Minesh has served as the former Secretary of the Swimming Pool Department at Khar Gymkhana and as a former Managing Committee Member of the club. His son, Siddhant Babla, is a champion swimmer and Bombay Gold Medalist, inspiring Minesh's dream of helping produce an Olympian from India.
Beyond his sporting pursuits, Minesh is actively involved in his family-owned business, which specializes in the export of automotive components to global markets. His experience in international business operations, strategic planning, and relationship management brings valuable entrepreneurial insight and leadership to MSS, complementing his passion for sport and community development.
Known for his leadership, commitment to excellence, and community-building spirit, Minesh plays a key role in driving the growth and vision of MSS. A true sportsman at heart, he values both victory and learning from defeat and firmly believes that the greatest strength of MSS lies in its community.
